Easily and simply catch up on your taxes.
You’re not alone if you haven’t filed your taxes in a while. In fact, it’s so widespread that the IRS established a special program to assist people in getting caught up as quickly as possible. The program is known as the Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedure, and it is available to taxpayers who can show that their failure to file and pay taxes was not intentional. What does this imply? Essentially, your failure to file and pay taxes was due to “negligence, inadvertence, or mistake, or conduct that is the outcome of a good faith comprehension of the law’s requirements.”
We understand how difficult it can be to get behind on your US taxes, but we specialize in assisting US expats in catching up through the Streamlined Filing Procedures. We’ve devised this unique Streamlined Filing Package with a single charge to help you save money and get caught up as quickly as possible!
To use this program, the IRS requires the previous three years of delinquent Federal Tax Returns and the previous six years of FBARs to be filed. As of June 2014, the IRS waived all late filing and FBAR fines for people who failed to file for non-willful reasons.
Form 14653 – Certification by US Person Residing Outside of the United States for Streamlined Foreign Offshore Procedures is included in this fixed cost. When using the Streamlined Filing process, this form is required. The form is intended to confirm that your tax delinquent was the result of an unintentional act, which is required in order to use the Streamlined program for getting caught up on taxes without penalties. We will provide you with examples to follow and will assist you in reviewing the form and your certification statement to ensure that your certification is authorized by the IRS.
Filing is required – but you likely won’t owe anything.
The good news is that most expats don’t end up paying any taxes to the IRS. There are a plethora of tax deductions which we will utilize that allow taxpayers to deduct more than $100,000 from their taxable income. But – in order to receive these generous exclusions and deductions – you must continue to file. Failure to do so can lead to penalties.
